New opportunities to join our resident-led Board

Updated: 17 October 2023 at 14:00pm

As one of the UK’s only resident-led housing associations, we're committed to ensuring that our residents have the biggest voice at the table.

While tenants and leaseholders can get involved at all levels – from attending one of our events, to scrutinising how we’re performing as your landlord – we’re always looking for the next generation of resident Board Members.

We’re looking for a tenant Board Member to join our resident-led Board.

Tenant Board Member – Phoenix Community Housing

Application deadline: Midnight on Sunday 5 November

Tenants and leaseholders are the largest group on our Board. As a Tenant Board Member, you will play an important role in overseeing how Phoenix is run, deciding how we spend our money, and setting our plans for the future.

Information about becoming a Board Member, what the role involves, and what you can expect in return can be found on the Board pages of our website.

You can also speak to a member of the Governance Team to find out more about becoming a Board Member. Please contact us or email the team directly at governance@phoenixch.org.uk

Previous experience on a Board is not required for this position. Successful applicants will enjoy the support of your fellow Board members and Phoenix staff in getting to grips with what is involved and the role. You will need to be a Phoenix Shareholder, and if not yet a member, we will arrange for you to join as part of the application process.

What matters is enthusiasm for our resident-led model and a desire to help build a better community and deliver the best possible services for our residents.

The successful candidate will be announced at our Board Meeting on Thursday 7 December 2023.

To apply, please complete our online application form and diversity monitoring form.

Independent Board Member – Phoenix Community Housing

Application deadline: Midnight on Sunday 19 November

We’re also seeking a non-executive Board Member with a senior level professional background along with non-executive experience to join our Board. Experience in the housing sector is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a candidate who will contribute to the Board and help Phoenix face challenges such as the new Consumer Regulation, commercial and financial environment, and compliance across the board and in particular building & landlord safety.
