Changes to your rent

Updated: 28 February 2024 at 10:42am

At Phoenix, we review the rents for our homes annually. This year (2024/25) our Board agreed to a 7.7% rent increase for tenants.

We recognise that this is a significant increase for our residents against the backdrop of a cost-of-living crisis.

To help you understand the rent increase and answer any questions, we have created a booklet that provides more information about how we set rent, how to pay and the support available to you to help you pay your rent.

Carmen Simpson, tenant and Chair of Phoenix Community Housing said: "Raising our rents this year has been a tough decision for our board.

"Our priority is not only to provide high-quality services and invest in our homes but also to ensure Phoenix, our residents, and our community thrive now and in the future.

"If you are having trouble or are worried about how you will pay your rent, please talk to us. We may be able to help you apply for additional support or can help you by agreeing a payment plan”
