Phoenix’s housing heroes shortlisted for national awards

We're delighted to share that Phoenix resident, Zhane Lunan and Estates Services Manager, Micky Stokes, have been shortlisted for the Housing Heroes Awards. 

Zhane is a young Phoenix resident who has been extensively involved in Phoenix for over five years. From sitting on the very first Youth Council to being a member of our Youth Leadership Programme #BEin, Zhane has made invaluable contributions across the Phoenix community. Zhane is shortlisted for the ‘Tenant of the year’ category.  

Micky is one of our longest-standing members of staff and is known across Phoenix for going above and beyond to help residents and colleagues. Whether it’s herding escaped goats, finding emergency accommodation for residents or diverting traffic during a storm, Micky is on the scene and ready to help. Micky is shortlisted for the ‘Inspirational colleague of the year’ category. 

Denise Fowler, Chief Executive of Phoenix Community Housing, said: "It’s fantastic to see Zhane and Mick get the recognition they deserve. They both have a huge impact on our residents, staff and community and are a real asset to Phoenix. We’re very proud - they are our winners regardless of the outcome.” 

The winners will be announced at an event in Manchester on Monday 26 June.
