1.1 million secured to improve energy efficiency of our homes

We're pleased to announce that we have secured 1.1 million from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund to invest in providing warm, energy-efficient homes whilst reducing carbon and fuel bills for our residents.

As well as securing 1.1 million, we will add a further 2 million to upgrade our homes with energy efficiency measures, including loft insulation to new windows, saving residents between £200 and £400 on annual energy bills and increasing the warmth of their homes – making our residents more comfortable.

Making this significant investment in our homes will also mean that we can tackle fuel poverty and support green jobs – a growing priority for Phoenix.

With the support of the fund, we plan to retrofit the fabric of hundreds of our homes. In the first phase, retrofit assessments will be arranged to see if chosen properties are in the scope of the fund's requirements to bring our homes up to energy band C or above – reducing our carbon footprint.

The project's first phase will start in April 2023 and run until 2025, and we will work with residents to design the programme and plan how best to carry out the work in their homes.
