We are very sorry to be saying farewell to our Director of Property and New Business Lesley...
Phoenix tenants have voted to award £130,000 of community chest funding to a range of projects that will benefit residents in Catford, Bellingham, Downham and Grove Park.
Seven community projects have secured a large grant of up to £20,000 from our award-winning Community Chest Fund. Set up in 2013, the fund has now given out £1million to 100 projects befitting more than 21, 500 projects. This year’s winners, decided by Phoenix tenants, are projects and initiatives that will benefit Phoenix residents and the broader community. They all made a short video and were on hand at this year’s Phoenix Festival to explain to residents what their project would do if they won.
548 Phoenix tenants got involved to have their say by voting online, by post, telephone , in person at The Green Man and at the Phoenix Festival.
Chief Executive of Phoenix Denise Fowler said: “This is the first year that Grove Park residents have been able to get involved with the Community Chest and to reflect this we’ve given away an extra £30,000. I’m thrilled to see so many tenants vote this year and what a fantastic lineup of projects they’ve chosen. There’s such a variety of projects this year from football coaching to holiday clubs and therapies for older people. All of these projects will benefit our community, and I hope all our residents take full advantage of what’s on offer. Congratulations to the winners. I can’t wait to see you get started!”
