Applications are now open for funding from our annual Community Chest.
Since 2013, we’ve awarded £600,000 to 60 projects that have so far benefitted 14,000 of our residents and people in our community.
Previous projects have covered a wide range of activities, from family away days and African drumming classes to workshops in schools to improve young people’s life chances.
This year, £100,000 in funding is available through a mixture of large and small grants for individuals and organisations to apply for to fund their projects. Phoenix tenants then vote on larger grants of up to £20,000 at our annual Phoenix Festival. This is in addition to our £1K Challenge for young people to run a project as part of Phoenix Futures.

Jim Ripley, Chief Executive of Phoenix, said: “The Community Chest is our way of supporting our residents to make a difference in their own community. These projects help residents gain new skills and offer opportunities that they may not otherwise be able to access.”
To help with your application, we are offering drop-in sessions with Voluntary Action Lewisham. These will be held from 10am-4pm, on Thursday 7 February at Goldsmiths Community Centre (Castilion Road SE6 1QD) and on Friday 8 February at The Green Man (355 Bromley Road SE6 2RP).
