Thousands of Phoenix residents gather to kick off the festive season!

Thank you to the 2,000 residents and members of the community who joined us at Forster Memorial Park for a Phoenix Winter Wonderland!

The free event featured special guest snowmen from across the globe and Santa and his team of real reindeer who greeted families throughout the day.

Event-goers took to the ice for some twirls and tumbles, posed for a snow globe selfie and got creative with some Christmas crafts.

Jim Ripley, Chief Executive of Phoenix Community Housing, said: “Our Christmas event this year was fantastic. It’s great to see residents and members of the community celebrating together. It was not only an occasion to have fun, but also to influence our services and shape what we do.”

In November 2021, we welcomed residents of 1,500 homes in Grove Park to our Phoenix community. The event on Saturday was an opportunity for residents, old and new, to hear about Phoenix’s model and to meet with other involved residents.

As a resident-led housing association, the event was also an opportunity for residents to consult with us and find out about our services. We talked to residents about services including our new MyPhoenix resident portal and our wellbeing support service.

Carmen Simpson, Phoenix resident and Chair of Phoenix, said: “For many of our new residents, Winter Wonderland is their first experience of Phoenix. This is just the beginning for new voices to come forward and get involved to help shape and define our future. It’s an exciting time for Phoenix!”

If you are a Phoenix resident and would like to get involved, pleased contact us. We’d love to hear from you!
