A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Community Links this year.
With the theme based around the Chinese New Year, residents enjoyed enjoyed Chinese magic, making spring rolls in the Lewisham Training Kitchen, and opportunities to make Chinese dragon masks.
Back by popular demand was the roller rink, with families strapping on their rollerskates and skating on a dedicated rink on the Bromley Road. Residents also had the chance to meet our team and the projects bidding for Community Chest funding.
Emma Lee, who attended with her children, said: "We come to Phoenix's events because they're fun, family-friendly and free - the three Fs! They're really good for kids and are just somewhere we can go together to enjoy ourselves.
Community Links is one of a series of consultation events we hold to get to know our residents and your views better.
At these events, you have the opportunity to find out about how we work with you – from working with you on tenancy issues and home ownership queries – to the additional services we offer like advice on welfare benefits, cutting your energy bills, and the new homes we’re building to help tackle the housing crisis.
Our popular consultation events over the summer, Chat & Chips will be back between June and September. On green spaces around our estates, chosen with the input of our Gateway Committee based on residents' priorities, you’ll have an opportunity to meet our team, raise any issues and find out more about Phoenix – all before enjoying a delicious fish and chip supper (alternatives, including vegan options, are available).
The next opportunity for our community to come together will be for our International Women's Day event on Saturday 14 March, before one of the highlights of our calendar: the Phoenix Festival in May.
One of south London’s biggest free community festivals, the Phoenix Festival attracts thousands of Forster Park to enjoy live music, entertainment, food and drinks stalls, and much more.
