Proposals for new homes on Chingley Close | Arcus Road - tell us what you think

Updated: 26 April 2021 at 15:36pm

There is a major shortage of affordable housing in Lewisham and Bromley, across London and other parts of the country. Phoenix Community Housing is committed to tackling this problem by building new, high-quality, affordable homes.

As a resident-led and community-based housing association, we want to involve neighbours and the broader community whenever we develop plans to build new homes to help ease this crisis and believe the best results are achieved when residents and staff work together.

We are considering development opportunities on the site of garages and disused allotments at the rear of Arcus Road and Chingley Close. Redevelopment of the site could create new homes for individuals and families in housing need.

We have been engaging with residents since last summer on shaping our proposals and have improved them based on what we learnt. Access to the site requires demolition of an existing two-storey block at 3-10 Chingley Close. We have been advising existing residents on the support available and assisting them in finding new homes.

You can also view the online consultation video to hear about our plans and designs. We will submit the planning application for our proposal to Lewisham Council for formal consultation and approval in July 2021.

As plans progress, we will be hosting a Chat and Chips event  for residents to discuss the proposals ahead of a planning application. Come and join the conversation. All are invited.
