Over nine weeks, students at our school of social housing will gains skills and knowledge on the history and the value of social housing. The aim of the academy is for participants to become more involved in their housing association or assist those looking to kickstart a career in the housing sector.

The Phoenix Academy, now in its fifth year, is proving popular, not only with residents from a variety of Housing Associations but housing professionals from across the country. Almost 40 people have enrolled this year, making this our biggest intake to date.

Past graduates of the academy have gone on to join our Board, resident involvement groups and enhanced careers. Phoenix Academy graduate, Sade told us, “It broadened my knowledge and gave me a better understanding of the sector. It opened by eyes and I felt spurred on to start a career as a Housing Officer.”

Graduates will  gain a Chartered Institute of Housing-accredited qualification, with the ability to progress to a more advanced Level 2 qualification.
