Spaces are now available for the Phoenix Academy 2020, our award-winning 'School of Social Housing'.
Close to two hundred people have graduated from the CIH-accredited Phoenix Academy since it was launched in 2014. Delivered over nine weeks, the academy is your opportunity to learn more about social housing and to become more involved with Phoenix - you might even end up on our Board! To date, five Phoenix residents have gone on to become Board Members after taking part in the Phoenix Academy and many more have become involved with Phoenix, or other housing providers in different ways.
The course begins on 21 April 2020 and is delivered on Tuesday evenings over nine weeks by Phoenix members of staff and involved residents. You'll learn about the history of social housing, asset management, housing finance, sustainable development and models of governance, and more from experienced residents and staff. Sessions are informal and fun, with plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate.
"I found the Level 1 to be very informative and each lesson left me wanting to go and find out more on the topic we had covered, the tutors were patient and welcoming for all levels of understanding. The commitment of the tutors and the delivery of each element was enthralling and encouraged attention from us all. I have put myself forward for level 2 and cannot wait to get started!"

Anyone can attend and the academy is fully accesible. In 2019, 13 year old Zainab Agboola became our youngest ever graduate. On completion of the initial nine week course, we offer further accredited training with the Chartered Institute of Housing.
