Opportunities for new homes at Catford Police Station site

Updated: 21 February 2022 at 11:39am

We are pleased to share the news that Phoenix has purchased the Catford Police Station site.

Catford Police Station closed at the end of 2017 and has been disused since. Our early plans include proposals to provide up to 65 much-needed affordable homes for local residents which will play a role in easing pressures on the Lewisham waiting list.

Chair of the Phoenix Community Housing Board and tenant, Carmen Simpson, said: “This is a great opportunity to provide high quality homes for south Lewisham, while maintaining the character and distinctiveness of the area.

“Over the coming weeks and months, we will agree a delivery plan, including how we will involve local people and the types of homes we will provide. I can’t wait to see the plans develop.”

Catford Police Station is locally listed, and our proposals will incorporate parts of the existing building into the design. Along with the new homes, the proposals will also look at including employment and training facilities for the community.

As a resident-led organisation, we will use our “Building Together” approach, where Phoenix residents and the views of the community will be at the forefront of our plans.

We will provide updates and information about our proposals, consultation plans and how you can get involved on our development page.
