Make your idea a reality with our Pop-up Project Programme!

Updated: 15 October 2020 at 09:42am

We’re appealing to Phoenix Community Housing residents with an idea that they want to make a reality.  We can help you to set up your own community project, with support from our Pop-up Projects Programme.

As a resident-led housing association, we believe that it’s essential our residents are front and centre in developing our community. We’ve launched a new programme where residents can get help, support and training to set up and deliver their own community project, whether that be a singing group, local enterprise or gardening scheme.

Maybe you have a great idea for a social enterprise or you’re passionate about improving our green spaces? From sewing groups to social lunches, we want to hear your ideas.

Whatever your aim, you’ll receive advice, guidance and training to help you grow your ideas, deliver your project and make it sustainable.

How it works:

  • Reach out - even if you only have a seed of an idea, but you want to explore options. contact us today to find out what’s possible and start building your idea and plan
  • Coaching - you’ll receive regular 1:1 coaching sessions at a time convenient to you where we’ll work on developing your knowledge, skills and network.
  • Training - we’ll provide free training to support your development as a project leader. We can help with IT training, how to create leaflets and flyers, setting up social media accounts and more.
  • The right start - we can provide small amounts of seed funding towards insurances and set up costs.  We’ll also aim to provide free place in our community spaces to run your project or group when government guidelines allow us to do so. We can help you to deliver your project virtually.
  • Accessing funding - We’ll work with you to identify and apply to grand funding to make your project a success.

Once we’ve provided you with the necessary help and support, all that’s left is for you to get going. We’ll continue to support you throughout when the project is happening.

We’ve already helped residents to set up their own community projects. Hear more from resident Mary Brown who has set up her own crochet course.

“Get your ideas down and go for it. With this programme the world is your oyster. They can help you create something bigger and better for our community. I feel like I’ve grown from a seed into a tree.”- Stella Enoe, founder of the Phoenix Senior Super Singers.

Phoenix resident, Stella, founded her singing group 'The Phoenix Senior Super Singers' with help from our Pop-up Project Programme. Find out more about Stella’s experience setting up her singing group.
