The Government has introduced a new Kickstart Scheme, a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high-quality six-month work placements aimed at 16-24 -year-olds who are on Universal Credit.
The scheme aims to help young people access employment opportunities, fulfil their potential and meet the challenges we now face as we recover from the pandemic.
As part of the scheme, we’ll be offering job placements in our Customer Services, Community Engagement, Estates and Environmental Services, and Planned Maintenance teams. The placements are open to anyone aged 16-24 who is currently on Univeral Credit. In order to apply for the placements, you must speak to your work coach from The Job Centre.
If you’re interested in applying for a placement, you can join our online taster sessions:

Unemployment in young people in Lewisham has more than doubled since last year due to the pandemic. Now, over 3,500 Lewisham residents aged 16-24 are facing unemployment. We want to provide job opportunities to young people in our local community and help our community recover from the effects of the pandemic.
Phoenix Community Housing is part of the Kickstart Housing Partnership led by Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest provider of affordable housing.
