Give your views on Lewisham's new housing strategy

Updated: 6 March 2020 at 11:19am

This consultation stage has now closed.

Lewisham Council has developed a new housing strategy for 2020-2026 and they want to hear from people to make sure they are taking the right steps to solve the housing crisis.

The strategy is open for consultation until the end of March 2020 and we're encouraging our residents to read the strategy and give their views as part of the consultation

The strategy explains how Lewisham Council will tackle the housing crisis and achieve their vision: for everyone to have a safe, stable and affordable home where they can live an independent and prosperous life. This includes how Lewisham will work towards:

  • delivering the homes that Lewisham needs
  • preventing homelessness and meeting housing need
  • improving the quality, standard and safety of housing
  • supporting our residents to live safe, independent and active lives
  • strengthening communities.

Our response

We're committed to doing all that we can to help tackle the major shortage of affordable homes in Lewisham and Bromley, and a key partner in the council's 'Building for Lewisham' programme. Find out more about our work to build new affordable homes on our Development page.

We will respond to Lewisham's consultation formally as an organisation and will incorporate feedback and perspectives shared by residents on our Phoenix Gateway Commitee and our resident-led Board. If you are a Phoenix resident, and would like to share your views on the strategy to be considered as part of Phoenix's organisational response, please contact us
