At Phoenix, we want to ensure residents can enjoy their gardens and outside spaces, and we recognise that fencing plays an important part in this.
However, due to budgetary considerations, we have had to review our approach to fencing replacement and renewals. From this month (December), we will only repair fences in an emergency. An emergency is classed as not safe and secure, has sharp object sticking out, rotten or a security risk.
If your fence is classed as one of the emergencies listed above, please get in touch so that we can make it safe or remove it. If your boundary backs on to public land, it will be renewed, if required, to ensure a suitable boundary.
If your fence is between your home and your neighbour’s home, has missing panels, and/or is severely damaged, we will include your fence in our planned fencing programme, which starts in April 2022. Fencing in this programme will be prioritised based on urgency, and it may be sometime before your fencing work is carried out.
Non-urgent queries relating to the age or condition of your fencing will be passed to our Asset Management team to be reviewed. If required, we may schedule a stock condition survey on your home, including looking at the fence.
