Applications open for £100,000 Community Chest

Updated: 18 January 2016 at 09:59am

Applications to the 2016 Community Chest are now closed. Thank you and good luck to everyone who has submitted a bid.

Our award-winning £100,000 Community Chest is back and accepting applications for projects which improve the lives of our residents!

If you have an idea for a project that would benefit the Phoenix community then this could help make it a reality.

Our £100,000 pot of funding offers four small grants of up to £2,000, and larger grants of up to £20,000. Anyone is welcome to bid. That includes Phoenix residents, local businesses and voluntary organisations. All you need to do is demonstrate that Phoenix residents support your idea and that the project will benefit our community.

Phoenix residents are involved in deciding which projects they want to fund throughout the process. They agree the priority areas for funding, are part of the evaluation panel, and will vote for their favourite projects at the Phoenix Festival later this year.

Chief Executive Jim Ripley said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing the applications for funding that come in this year. We always see ideas for innovative projects that could really make a difference to our residents.”

“This funding helps us build a strong community and, as a resident led housing association, the fact that our residents are involved every step of the way is crucial.”

The Community Chest, which recently won the ‘Community Achievement’ award at the 24housing Awards, has funded a wide range of projects including family away days, art and craft projects, community exercise classes, music groups and a choir.

In the past three years, £300,000 has been awarded and over 5,000 people have benefited from Community Chest projects. Take a look at the 2015/2016 projects here .

If you would like to apply for funding you can download our application form here.

Applications need to be submitted by 12.00pm on Thursday 3 March. If you would like to have the opportunity to consult with residents about your idea you can attend our Community Links event on Wednesday 17 February. Please contact us for more information.
