Our award-winning £100,000 Community Chest is now open and accepting applications for projects which improve the lives of our residents!
If you have an idea for a project that would benefit the Phoenix community then this could help make it a reality.
Our £100,000 pot of funding offers small grants of up to £2,500, and larger grants of up to £20,000. Anyone is welcome to bid, including Phoenix residents, local businesses and voluntary organisations. All you have to do is apply!
Phoenix residents are involved throughout the process of deciding which projects receive funding. They are part of the evaluation panel and will vote for their favourite projects later this year.
Chief Executive Jim Ripley said: “The pandemic has had a big impact on our community and this funding will help to support our residents through projects that create a stronger community during this challenging time.
"The Community Chest is not only an opportunity for our residents to do fun activities, but to gain new skills and access new opportunities. Phoenix is proud to invest £100,000 through the Community Chest each year and I’m really looking forward to seeing the applications this year.”
The Community Chest has funded a wide range of projects including family trip days, art and craft projects, community exercise classes, ladies football and a choir.
Since 2013, over £800,000 has been awarded and more than 21,000 people have benefited from Community Chest projects. Take a look at the 2020 winning projects here.
Phoenix resident, Stella Enoe, set up her own community group, the Phoenix Senior Super Singers, and was awarded funding in last year’s Community Chest. You can find out more about Stella’s journey here.

Applications need to be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 5 March.
If you would like to have the opportunity to discuss your idea, you can attend our Applicant Support Sessions either online or by telephone, on 9, 10 and 11 February. Please contact us for more information.
